Dr. J. Mark Lawson
Board Member J. Mark Lawson is a local Gastroenterologist with Gastrointestinal and Liver Specialists of Tidewater. He did his medical training at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego California and did post fellowship training at Duke University. He transferred to the Tidewater area in 1987 and retired from Navy medicine in 1996 to entered private practice locally. He is a past president of the Virginia Gastroenterology Society, three time Virginia Governor for the American College of Gastroenterology, and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has authored numerous peer reviewed articles and presently is a reviewer for Practical Reviews in Gastroenterology. Dr. Mark Lawson is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at the Eastern Virginia Medical School.
